Our Purpose and Mission
We are a parent-led, faith-based homeschool group building long-term community across ages through collaborative learning, creativity, and play.
So what does this mean? Let’s break it down a bit.
Parent-led: We as parents work joyfully and willingly to make our co-op flourish. This is a co-operative group, and we all collaborate in the implementation week-to-week. Parents remain on site for the entire meeting time.
Faith-based: The Hive has a Christian foundation. For more clarity on what that means and the influence it will have on the school day, please read “How to Approach the Statement of Faith” and “The Hive Homeschool Community Statement of Faith.”
Long-term: Our goal is to be a co-op where families can be part of the community through the entirety of their homeschooling journey. We know each family may choose to start and end homeschooling at different times. We want to be a place that has relevant opportunities for the whole family.
Community across ages: Each of us, our children and ourselves, has a need for friendship, support, and belonging. Meeting this need is a focal point in our classes and structures.
Collaborative learning, creativity, and play: These are skills that are essential for every age, even as adults. They are the values we hope to foster in how we structure our meetings together.
